Modern science is catching up, but “THEY” still don’t want you to know…but we want to share.
Research shows that thymoquinone (TQ), the active compound in black seed oil, has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-metastatic properties, and has been researched for over 250 conditions (as documented by the published literature on the National Library of Medicine) From treating HIV, helping asthmatics reduce their medication, skin healing, hay fever, gastric ulcers, treating hepatitis C and Alzheimer's patients. We have looked at quite a bit of research and wanted to share what we’ve found, specifically related to cancer.
Breast Cancer: TQ helps kill cancer cells, stops their spread, and boosts immune response. It also targets key proteins and pathways linked to tumor growth and migration.
Colon Cancer: TQ reduces inflammation, blocks tumor signals, damages cancer DNA, and prevents metastasis—especially when combined with agents like Vitamin D3.
Prostate & Pancreatic Cancer: Emerging studies reveal TQ regulates cancer-related microRNAs and strengthens the body’s natural defenses.
We first want to highlight our favorite oncologist, Dr Makis and his review of Black Seed Oil and Cancer…

Papers Reviewed:
2021 April, Almajali et al - Thymoquinone, as a Novel Therapeutic Candidate of Cancers
Breast cancer:
It was shown that TQ with piperine inhibited the proliferation of breast cancer cells through apoptosis induction, angiogenesis inhibition, and immune system stimulation [57]. TQ has also affected breast cancer by targeting the PPAR-γ pathway and inhibiting the migration and invasion of cancer cells [58]. Furthermore, TQ showed antiproliferative and pro-apoptotic potency on breast cancer through the suppression of anti-apoptotic proteins, such as survivin, Bcl-xL, and Bcl-2 [59].
Colon cancer:
It also reduced the migration of colon cancer cells by reducing the expression of the COX-2 gene. Similar results were obtained in an animal tumor xenograft model [13]. TQ had repressed the metastasis in the irinotecan-resistant (CPT-11-R) LoVo colon cancer cell line by inhibiting the phosphorylation of IKKa/b and NF-jB and activity of ERK1/2, as well as activating JNK and p38 [he results showed that the TQ–vitamin D3 combination significantly reduced pro-cancerous molecules (Wnt, β-catenin, NF-κB, COX-2, iNOS, VEGF and HSP-90) and more elevated anti-tumorigenesis biomarkers (
A combined treatment inhibited the proliferation through upregulating p53 and elevating the Bax/Bcl2 ratio and increasing DNA damage in a human colon cancer cell line (HT-29) [74].
2023 Sep, Das et al - A mechanistic insight into the potential anti-cancerous property of Nigella sativa on breast cancer through micro-RNA regulation: An in vitro & in vivo study
our findings also highlight the anti-migratory role of BSO in the breast cancer cells. Furthermore, our in vitro findings have also been validated in vivo which strongly justifies the anti-tumorigenic potential of BSO.
2023 Jan, Zhao et al - Advances in research on the relationship between thymoquinone and pancreatic cancer
2023 Dec, Sheikhnia et al - Potential anticancer properties and mechanisms of thymoquinone in colorectal cancer
natural agents like TQ have shown immense promise in advancing cancer treatment outcomes. Various studies have illustrated that TQ, through its capability to modulate different signaling pathways, can provide potent anti-cancer properties. The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant features of TQ have been well documented as capable of suppressing colorectal malignancies. Additionally, TQ may affect cellular processes such as apoptosis, angiogenesis, cell cycle, and proliferation, as well as metastasis, thereby enhancing its anticancer effects.
In summary, TQ stands as a promising natural therapeutic agent that can enhance the efficacy of existing cancer treatments while minimizing the associated adverse effects.

“Nigella sativa has been used as traditional medicine for centuries. The crude oil and thymoquinone (TQ) extracted from its seeds and oil are effective against many diseases like cancer, cardiovascular complications, diabetes, asthma, kidney disease etc. It is effective against cancer in blood system, lung, kidney, liver, prostate, breast, cervix, skin with much safety.”

Is Black Seed Oil and Black Cumin oil the same thing? Which are you referring to? And which brand do you recommend?
I’ve been using Dr Ardis’s formula BioDefense for a few weeks now. BioDefense’s main ingredient in black seed oil. I was wanting to add to my health regimen a semi regular parasite detox that leaned on the natural side of things, and BioDefense fit the bill. It comes in a dropper bottle that I use with gel caps. Dr Ardis did a great podcast on the benefits of nigella sativa.
